Hayley Margo Anderson

High School: Westfield Class of 2012

College: University of Virginia

Hometown: Centreville, VA

Background: Hayley has a 4.34 GPA to include "A" grades in History, Government and Comparative Government. She is a member of the National Honor Society, History Honor Society and is an AP scholar with Honors (a nationwide recognition).

Outside of school, she is a Girl Scout Ambassador and has been an intern for VA State Senator David Marsden. Hayley wants to study Political Science and International Studies at the University of Virginia as a foundation for a career in International Relations.

Garrett Allen

High School: Oakton Class of 2012

College: University of Virginia

Hometown: Oakton, VA

Background: Garrett has a 4.01 GPA with "A" grades in AP Government and History. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Debate Team and is the business manager for the school newspaper. He is also a Captain and three year letter winner for the Varsity Outdoor Track Team and Varsity Indoor Track Team.

Outside of school, Garrett attended Virginia's Boy's State Program and assisted in the campaign of VA Delegate Jim LeMunyon. Additionally, Garrett made a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to help children in the local villages near Santo Domingo.

Garrett wants to pursue a degree in Political Science at the University of Virginia with a goal of becoming an attorney.

Joshua Oswalt

High School: Chantilly Class of 2012

College: University of Virginia

Hometown: Chantilly, VA

Background: Joshua has a 4.675 GPA with "A" grades in AP US History and AP US/Comparative Government. He won the 10th and 11th Grade Outstanding History student award and the 2011 Harvard Prize Book Award. Joshua was selected by Chantilly High School as the school's nominee to the Jefferson Scholars Foundation Program sponsored by the University of Virginia. He was selected to attend The George Washington University Student Leadership Program and was the Co-Captain of the "It's Academic" team. He was also the Secretary-General of Chantilly's Model UN team. Joshua was also a high scorer on the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Outside of school, Joshua is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts and a National Honor Society senior tutor for AP World History.

Joshua wants to pursue a degree in Political Science, History or International Relations at the University of Virginia. He wants to work in some foreign relations capacity for the US government, possibly in an intelligence agency or embassy.
